Hello, I'm Lorraine Luna D.

Kia ora! I'm Luna, and I'm a Filipino postgraduate student at The University of Waikato. I have extensive experience in communications and public relations, and on a lighter side, have worked with kids in Sunday school and did casual babysitting for my sister and for some friends in the Philippines. I am ready to take on some baby sitting roles as a way to help Kiwi families during my spare time, to immerse myself more into NZ culture, and to earn some extra.

Experience Level

I am a furmom in the Philippines, and while my husband and I are still a child-free couple, both of us have considerable experience in babysitting our nieces and nephews, as well as some of our friends' newborn babies and toddlers (about 3 months to 8 years old). Some tasks included changing diapers, preparing meals, accompanying kids to playground, driving them to the church or to their home, etc. I was also a Sunday school teacher when I looked after kids from 2-12 years old. I am eager to gain experience in baby sitting here in New Zealand.

Special Skills

Aside fromy my professional skills in communications and public relations, some of my skills that I think would be helpful in baby sitting are driving, cooking, singing, playing the keyboard/piano, dancing, and story reading. My heart is close to any form of arts. I also try as much as I can to listen attentively to my niece and nephews whenever they say anything to me (whether it's a request or a story) and respond accordingly. My sister would tell me that I'm doing a great job on that, but I still have to figure out if my ears adjust easily to kiwi kids' accent. Please bear with me!
